FTM...what should i definitely pack in my hospital bag?

My bag- I have my toiletries, two gowns (one for delivery and one for recovery), my going home outfit, nursing bra, make up, flip flops, pair of socks, pillow, cell phone charger

For daddy- two outfits for the hospital, snacks, drinks, toiletries

For baby - going home outfit, zip up footed pjs for hospital, swaddle blanket, receiving blanket, 1 pair of mittens, hat, nail clipper/nail file, boppy

Am I missing anything or is there anything I'm bringing that I absolutely do not need to pack? I would rather pack less than overpack. I know the hospital provides a lot

I'm going to have a lot of family around. It might be a good idea for me to "forget" a bunch of things that they can leave to go pick up.

I've been told to bring some snacks- should you deliver in the middle of the night when most hospital kitchens are limited.

The hospital will probably give you some but adult underwear, like depends, was so much better than huge pads. I was so glad to have them.

More than one set off pjs and slippers! An iPad or something to keep you/your partner busy

Your husband could bring some kind of entertainment. Once I got my epidural and things calmed down, there wasn't much for him to do anymore until I was ready to push. The baby's outfits and blankets aren't really needed unless you want them on for pictures. I kept my baby in just his diaper so we could be skin to skin as much as possible and then swaddled him in the hospital blanket at night. You should only file the nails for the first couple of weeks because they're still attached to skin and super soft, so you won't need the clippers. But it looks like you've got basically everything you need. My advice is to have it all packed soon. I had planned and made lists of everything I wanted to take, then went into labor before I had mine packed and couldn't focus on what I needed.

You most likely won't wear a dressing gown in labor.  I used the hospital gown and wore a nursing bra underneath.  The positions they made me get in during labor- you don't look cute anyway.  I would bring a comfy outfit aside from the robe as well, I mostly wore lounge pants and a shirt once I was able to walk around.  I brought non slip socks and flip flops for walking around, and your own towels might not be a bad idea- hospital towels suck.

For the baby- you won't need blankets- they provide, and probably no on the file/clippers.  I was in for 4 days and never had to do that.  Don't forget to put the car seat in your car so your husband can grab it and not have to go home to get it.
