The baby scared the hell out of us yesterday. I was at work, went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was a streak of blood. I immediately called my boyfriend and told my boss I had to go to emergency room. We get there they start doing a ton of blood tests and I get another pap where they took a few swabs to test for different things. My ultrasound was just fine, baby measured a day early but they had no clue what was wrong. I was there for 6 hours and finally a nurse comes in to tell me I have something called bacterial vaginosis and it can cause mc and preterm labor and that's what caused me to bleed. Confused and scared I asked her what I did to get it and she said they don't know what causes it but it's seen in a few cases and most doctors don't even think to look for it until after a mc has happened. I am so very thankful our little one is still kicking in there like crazy and they gave me medicine to help fight the infection. I go back for a checkup in two weeks and hopefully it will all be okay and I can quit my worrying.
