Can my baby sleep in a rock and play?

Kaitlin
Is it safe for my 3 month old to sleep in a rock n play all night? She sleeps through the night usually. Her bassinet just says to longer have them sleep in there when they're 3 months which SUCKS cause I LOVE it. So would it be safe for her to sleep in her rock n play through the whole night? Any suggestions?

Technically no. That said my daughter slept, beautifully all night in one until 5 months. She transitioned seamlessly into her crib, still in our room though. She did have a noticeable flat spot but it corrected itself immediately after she was out of it. My son never liked it or we'd have him in one now.

My son who is 7 months in 1 day, has slept in one since 2 months old. That being said I've heard mixed reviews about letting them. We co sleep (baby in room) and will transition to crib when he grows out of it but we have a bit because he's a small little guy.

I was, but it doesn't really tilt their head forward as much as people think. And he does like 5/7 nights a week the other two he wakes up onces

I let my son sleep in it for awhile(he had trouble falling back asleep when he woke up in the middle of the night)  but I do want to warn you, later  when you start sleep training your baby(.of course not all babies would have trouble, just speaking from my experience) and they can be so used to the feel of the rocker that it may become difficult for your baby to transition to an open crib with more room and a completely different position to sleep in! I spoke with my Peditrition and she said "it was just fine but that once he starts to roll it would be an issue" if you do have any concern about them definitely talk to your baby's doctor! Better safe then sorry!

I've heard mixed reviews. I would just ask her pediatrician. I've definitely let my daughter sleep in it at night. There's nothing that covers her face or can restrict airflow. I wouldn't once she starts to roll, though, just because since it is on a slant it'd be hard to roll back and that presents a suffocation risk.

Oh, being flat isn't a requirement. It's actually really good for them to be at an angle. My daughter tends to spit up a lot, so her pediatrician told me to let her sleep at an angle so she doesn't aspirate should she spit up during the night. It also helps with gas.

It is safe but the rock amd play is notorious for flat spots on the head.

My LO slept in her rock n play until she about 7 months when she starting to out grow it. She slept so well in it but we noticed she was kind of turning in it so we figured she needed more room and started the transition to her to the crib. That took a bit but she likes it now. We never had a flat head problem or breathing problems it is not tilted forward as much as you would think.

My daughter slept in my room in her rock and play till she was 3 months old. I loved it she slept great in it. We transitioned her into her crib at 3 months because she outgrew the rock and play for the most part. But I used it when she was sick to put next to me for a while.

I was told to not have my daughter sleep in one for long periods of time (like through the night) because its not a flat service and the baby's neck isn't positioned right and can cause muscle weakness in the neck. I bought one for her to sleep in when I first brought her home but then was told not to let her sleep in it so I got a pack n play.
