First time mommy , what do you guys think about home birth 🤔??

I work in a high risk pregnancy clinic with MFM's and hearing all of their stories about perfectly healthy pregnancies that have delivery and post-partum complications scares me! I had my first in the hospital, luckily without any complications and certainly plan to have this one in a hospital, too!

I've had 3 with no complications and would love to try homebirth but the risk of something happening to myself or baby during or after delivery isnt worth it in my eyes. I'd rather be in a place with professionals to take care of us if complications happen

Get a midwife in a good hospital. That's what I did. Had the best delivery ever no meds were even mentioned /offered. Baby is so strong! But I knew I'd be safe if something went wrong. Also take Bradley method classes!

I wouldn't do it. I am healthy and had a healthy textbook pregnancy with my first. After the birth, my blood pressure went down a lot, and I almost had to get blood transfusion. The docs gave me tons of medicine to get my pressure back up. It was a scary 1h or so. I never had any health issues, and no one could have expected a complication. You can do a natural unmedicated water birth at the hospital, but don't try it at home. You don't have all the necessary equipment and meds in case of a complication.

I would rather do a home delivery with my midwife but my state doesn't allow it 😢

It scares me personally. I want to be in a place that can deal with an emergency situation.
