What do you call it when you make a post about yourself but someone that replies makes it all about them (nothing to do with said post) & why do you think they do this?

Answer

Some ppl do it to try to make the person feel like there not alone and it's coming from a good place but then you have ppl (like my MIL) who are one uppers and they feel the need to compare and have a bigger issuse or whatever it may be. I've caught myself doing this but when i have done it in not trying to compare but trying let them know there not alone you know what I mean?
