Today at our 20 week anatomy scan, I was told by the doctor about "two minor issues," which turned out to be single umbilical artery and choroid plexus cyst. I am now inconsolably hysterical. I am 34 and this is our first baby (a boy!) but now I am terrified that something is wrong. The doctor said to not freak out and not go Google crazy, both of which are easier said than done because I am devastated. I had the bloodwork done today, so now I'm in the ten day window of waiting hell, and praying that everything is going to be okay. I have read some positive stories online but I am crushed to think something is wrong with my little guy. Everything else at the time seemed to look normal as far as sight, function, and size, but I know from reading online that these are considered two soft markers for some serious defects. Does anyone have any information about these issues? Thanks in advance. And even if you don't know about them, prayers or happy thoughts would be so greatly appreciated.
