First Apartment tips?

Any hints or advice for moving into your first apartment?

Don't go crazy and buy a ton of stuff you don't need. Get the necessites now wait a few months the to buy anything else so you know what you actually need and don't just fill your place with a bunch of crap that takes up space, costs a ton of money, and you end up not neesing/wanting. And if you have carpet invest in a good vaccuum....it is totally worth it.

Make sure you're living in a low crime area especially if you're living alone

I 100% agree with the other comments about over buying stuff. Also don't just take the first apartment you like. Take your time to look around and see your options. Check the area of the apartment as well.  Make sure there's a nearby market and school or whatever kind of places that are necessary for your lifestyle.

Buy only what you need and don't go crazy decorating it. You can wait till you find stuff on sale or till you find the perfect piece.
