Can BC affect your period ??

So I just finished my first month 2 days ago and I was supposed to get my period yesterday and I haven't gotten it. Can BC make your period late??

Basically hormonal BC tricks your body into believing it's pregnant by supplying it with synthetic estrogen and progesterone. The only reason you bleed on the pill is because the 4th week's pills are placebo, which means that you are experiencing withdrawal bleeding (from the lack of synthetic hormones) not actual menstruation. It make take a few days after starting the placebo pills in order for your hormone levels to lower enough to induce bleeding. Your BC cycle cannot be compared to your natural cycle because BC cycle is artificial.

Yes there will be some changes. My period comes three days after the first placebo pill every time. Birth control can make periods shorter and lighter than usual.
