Colostrum to Milk? And breastfeeding🍼

Sorry for all the questions mommies.

Day 3 (baby is just over 2 days old) and I'm curious about my milk.

He's good at latching so I try to get him to the boob every 2 hours. The only thing is he doesn't always stay awake so he's not sucking that much. I'm worried my milk won't come in and he's not getting enough.  Advice?

If baby is having plenty if wet/dirty nappies then they're getting enough.  Your milk will come in, just feed in demand and alternate breasts each feed. This will help to make an even supply.

Just don't give up. As a PP said if they are having enough wet & dirty diapers, they're eating enough. I don't remember for sure but I think it's 6 wets/2 dirties daily. My milk didn't come in until after my son's 1 week checkup. The pediatrician gave me a sample of Mother's Milk Tea and it came in shortly after I drank that. Could be a coincidence but it wouldn't hurt to try

My son fell asleep EVERY time! Lol he would still suck in his sleep though. My milk came in eventually. So much that I would wake up and my shirt would be soaked the first few weeks or so. Then it evened out a bit.

Try tickling his feet or rubbing his cheek. Our nurse said to rub her cheek cause it would stimulate her to suck even if she fell asleep. Your milk should come in in the next few days.
