calcifying placenta?

So I am 34 weeks and 3 days today. Yesterday I went to the OB for my growth scan/NST and they said they are sending me for a level two sono because my placenta seems to be calcifying a bit. She said it's normal at this stage for that to happen, but if it's normal, why are they sending me for a level two? It's ALWAYS something, ugh!!!!

Are you a first time mum? Can i suggest getting a second opinion? They ised that excuse to induce me at 39 weeks with my first. Generally firsts go over 40 weeks, and i guess i would too. Bub wasnt ready and got stuck, the rest is a horror story. Wish i got a second opinion at the time but i was so naive and scared...

Hi what was your results? My sister is 33 weeks and her placenta has high protein- possibly calcifying? TIA

At my 36 week growth scan, they said I had stage 2/3 calcifying placenta, but I'm due for a csection at week 38 for other reasons, so they're not too worried.

It's pretty normal, but they should keep an eye on it with scans.
