did you get your baby screened for Down Syndrome?

👩🏻
My midwife gave me a referral for an ultrasound and blood test to screen for Down syndrome and trisomy 18 and "other deformities". She said about half of her moms do the screening. I was leaning toward doing it because I thought, if insurance covers it, why not? It poses zero chance of harm to my baby. But I've found out today that my insurance probably won't cover it (they won't give me a straight answer). So now I'm leaning toward not getting it. It would be nice to know to mentally prepare myself if there is a defect with baby. But it won't make a spec of difference whether I keep the baby or not. (There are moms who would abort if their baby had one of those). There's supposedly a 70-95% accuracy with this test. What did you decide and why?
