Ovulation strip expiration?

Hi! I took an ovulation test this am and it turned posting right away. The tests I have are from a friend that had extras that she gave to me. I looked at the date and they expired in 2014, would that affect the results? Do they really expire?

That's not a positive ovulation test result. If they expired years ago, I'd invest in new tests. You can order them online for a really low price.

I had old ones that expired in 2015 so I wanted to check them compared to the ones I was using (expires 2018) and while they registered lh the test line was always lighter than the control line. Like others said, buy new tests. The strips are affordable. You can even get the clearblue digital ones for reasonable on eBay but you have to make sure they aren't expired before you buy

As the last person said that's not positive. The test line has to be at least as dark as the control on an ovulation test. There are always 2 lines. 
I'd just buy some new ones to be sure. The last set I bought was 50 ovulation and 20 pregnancy for $13 on Amazon.
