Do your periods vary in length and heaviness

Up until a few moths ago my periods were 7 days long and heavy. Then they lasted 5 days for 2 periods and were lighter. Then this last one lasted 8 days and was still a bit lighter but heavier than the previous ones. 
Has this ever happened to you?
