do your periods vary in length?

Mine have recently varied in length and heaviness, and I don't know why. 
Please comment and share if this has happened to you and if you know why it happened please comment🙂

When I first got my period, per usual they were irregular and I missed 5 periods. Now, every single time I get my period they are all exactly 8 days.

They were pretty spot on from 12 to 21. Then I had surgery on my right ovary (internal bleeding issues) that was 2011. Since then they've been extremely heavy and extremely painful. Still like clockwork though. 28 day cycles, period lasting 7 days. Since my miscarriage in 2015 they've been a bit wonky. 25 to 35 day cycles, period still lasts 7 days. Bodies are mysterious.
