Abortion or Adoption?

Question

I'm 16 and only a few weeks pregnant. I have enough time to decided wether adoption or abortion is a better option for me. I would appreciate people's opinions. If you have gone through the adoption or abortion process, please enlighten me on how the process has effected you mentally and physically. Please and thank you

It's a very personal decision. I'm sure most people here will tell you to do adoption. I had an abortion when I was 16. As heartless as people say it sounds, I don't regret it at all. It has helped my mental health because I was on a lot of drugs at that time. If I would have gone along with the pregnancy, that child would have experienced many medical issues if it even survived. I was 5 weeks pregnant when I had the abortion. The process isn't pretty. It is bloody and a little sad. It's something that's hard to go through alone. You do whatever is easier to live with. I'm sure both are difficult, just in different ways.

I'm glad you're aware of the options that you have. I've never been pregnant so I have never gone through abortion or adoption, but I just wanted to say that I hope you do what feels right to you and I hope you have a good support system. Either decision is a good one, honestly. Write the pros/cons of each out and then weigh out your options.

I had an abortion at age 20. I was on birth control and we pulled out every time, but somehow I ended up pregnant. The only reason I feel any regret about it is because I let my boyfriend talk me into it. It wasn't a choice I was 100% comfortable with myself. He left me a few weeks later (after 7 years together) and it broke my heart knowing I did it just for him. Fast forward 5 years - I am 30 weeks pregnant with my husband and so excited for my son to arrive in August. I don't feel regret about the abortion itself, just that I let him manipulate me into it. Best of luck with what YOU decide. Let no one else make that choice. ☺️

Adoption is something that will follow you. Abortion does too but in a different way. You grieve and then you move on because you know it's the right choice for you. Don't let anyone make you feel bad if you choose abortion. If you choose to carry the baby and have it, that's something that will never leave you because it will always be an open wound

My mom gave my older sister up for adoption. My mom to this day still cries about it a lot (it's been 18 years) although it's a beautiful decision, it can be one of the tougher ones. You get to bond and go through all these hormones just to have a baby ripped from your hands and be snuggled by another. However, do whichever you're leaning towards. I just thought I'd give some insight into a negative side of adoption because it's not all happy go lucky

In the end, this is a decision that only you can make, regardless of any advice we may be able to give you here. It does sound like you are aware of the options available to you, which is good when it comes to making an informed decision. Honestly, it's going to come down to the choice that you can live with. If you think abortion is the right thing for you to do, then by all means do what you feel is right - the same goes for adoption. However, I do see a lot of people against adoption because it would be "giving the baby away", but you also always have the option to go with an open adoption in which you would still be able to be somewhat involved in the child's life while also making sure they were given the best chance at a better life.

None of these are an easy decision to make, but as long as you consider your options and go with what you feel is right for YOU, that's all that matters. 💖

At 19 I choose adoption for my son. He's now 6. It was and still is difficult more so the first year.  We have an open adoption.  He knows of me I send gifts on his birthday and Christmas and I receive pictures twice a year. 
I've never done abortion but I think either would be difficult.
