Baby led weaning- Help!

Anyone have any advice on baby led weaning? My 6month 2 week old will not eat baby food/cereal/yogurt. I am breastfeeding and my supply has dropped so I need him to start eating food so he won't need as much of my milk. I'm so scared to try solids... I'm scared of him choking! Do they just instinctively know how to chew something and not swallow it whole? How do I know if he's ready for that? Thanks in advance!! (Picture cause he's cute 😄😄😄)
