Mothers of twins, did you have a NICU stay?

Question

I'm 18 weeks with twins and am really nervous about a NICU stay. I was wondering how many twin mommas had to have one and how many didn't. If you would like to add in any advice or your NICU experience please please do. I'm looking for any advice and insight into motherhood with twins.

My twins were born two months early, baby A was released after a month but baby B stayed the whole time, came home just two days before due date.  Once babies get sent home from the NICU they aren't allowed back; THAT was the hardest part.  Only getting to visit my baby after husband got home from work and exhausted from being up all day with baby A.  It was slightly nice to adjust to having 1 baby before just having 2 to take care of.  But it's heartbreaking, you don't feel complete until your family is together under one roof.  I had also declined a NICU tour beforehand, I was scared of what I'd see.  I actually would recommend you getting one, it's not so bad.  My nurses were fantastic and answered all of my questions, and I was full of them.  It really makes you appreciate the littlest things.  I hope this helps.
