I actually find it ridiculously sad that so many people voted the day after a positive opk. That's very unlikely and shows people do not know how their own cycle works. You can't have enough progesterone in your system to register as a temp rise for at least half a day after ovulation and ovulating sooner then 24 hours after your FIRST positive opk is highly unlikely. And because you should only be taking your bbt in the morning and not at the "1 and a half day mark", that means you won't see a temp rise until 2 days after a positive opk likely.

Your opk indicates you are having a surge of LH. LH is the hormone that encourages ovulation to occur. So therefore, you get a positive opk BEFORE you ovulate. And you get a temp rise AFTER you ovulate because when you ovulate your body produces more progesterone which increases body temp. So essentially, your cycle starts. Your body starts building up estrogen which increases cervical fluid and helps to prepare an egg to be released. Then LH build up to encourage your body to release said egg. You can see this LH surge on a positive opk usually 24-36 hours before ovulation although it can be more then that. After ovulation your body starts producing progesterone. This can take 1-3 days to build up enough to show as a temp rise.

Thank you everyone for your responses! I just saw them, I wish Glow would be better with notifications when someone comments on your post. Here is my updated chart. I got my positive OPK on CD17 and got a .27 rise today on CD20. Hoping it keeps rising. I started temping this cycle to see if I am ovulating.
