Anybody have painful period cramps with their iud ? They were so bad last night they woke me up in my sleep but on the bright side I always know when I have started my period .

I would get really bad cramps for a year or so after having my paragard put in. They eventually normalized, however when I'm really stressed they are sometimes still bad. I had to sleep with a heating pad for a while. It was a real lifesaver though so I would highly recommend it!

Naproxin does wonders! I have the paraguard and its the only thing that works! Makes me feel like Im not on my period!

Get some heating pads you can stick on your undies to warm your lower tummy, and take aleve!

I've only had one period since getting Paragard, but I've been super fortunate so far in that my period was neither heavy nor painful (which is a huge change from what they were prior to being on the pill). Not sure if it's because my body is still trying to get back to a natural rhythm after coming off of HBC, but so far so good for me. Got another period due any day now, so we will see how long that lasts. Lol.
