Difference between Paragard or Mirena??

I had my Paragard inserted 4 months ago and  is giving me the bad symptoms.  Excesive bleeding, horrible period cramps and pain after intercourse. My doctor suggested me to replace it with Mirena. Honestly i don't know what to do.  Have some experienced something similar?? What could be the big difference between them.

My cramps were horrible the first 2 months. I'm going on my 5th month and this time I had a week of "pre-period" cramps, but my period cramps are like nothing now. Just wait it out. It will eventually level out.

With Mirena and others you spot a lot. Like my friend spots basically everyday. I'd rather have 5 days of bleeding I know is coming instead of spotting randomly and periodically - and sometimes it requiring a tampon because it's so heavy. That's why I got off of Nexplanon.

But everyone's experience is different with every birth control :)

During my fourth month of having the paraguard, I was still bleeding and having random cramps through the day. Maybe your body is still adjusting to it? Some people take longer to adjust.

Paragard is non hormonal and is known to potentially cause heavy and painful periods for a few months or more. But mirena (and Kyleena, liletta, and Skyla) are hormonal and they tend to lighten periods. Do some research, that helped me decide which was best for me. As well as trial and error
