do you have to pace feed a breastfed baby?

Only asking because I'm sure many people won't do it including my husband while watching baby. My best friend breast feeds & doesn't pace feed so I'm just curious

You don't have to but I found it helped keep us more on track with breastfeeding. She didn't get milk too fast with a bottle so her body was better able to tell when she was full thus leading to not giving her huge bottles and thus keeping me a little more sane keeping up with pumping and not feeling like a complete cow!

I'm a career woman and mother of 3 boys. I also EBF. Ive never had an issue with bottle feeding a breastfed baby. Ive also though never used anything but a slow flow nipple nor have I had the need to upgrade the supple flow. I think you may be over thinking things. Use a slow flow nipple and don't force feed when baby isn't hungry. I worry more about holding a bottle properly to prevent bubbles honestly

It's ideal to do so but make sure the most important is you have the slowest flow nipples on the bottles. I honestly never completely understood how to myself and my daughter rarely got bottles. But if your baby will be getting bottles more often even just once a day then yes you will need to pace feed.

When giving a bottle,  yes definitely.

I think it depends on who is feeding baby. My childcare provider is familiar with paced feeding and never had any issues. My husband had to learn, he would want to offer a bottle every time baby would cry when I was away.
