This happened to me a long time ago, but I just wanted to know how you ladies would have handled this situation.

When I was about 9 or 10 my family and my step moms family went down to a place called Yuba lake and camped for a few days. The lake it's kind of beach like. Well, I was out swimming and wanted my step mom to join me. She didn't want to so I tried to taunt her into coming out. I can't remember if I called her a "pussy cat" or just a "pussy", probably just " pussy". I had no idea what the word "pussy" meant at the time. Well her family completely lost their shit on me and yelled at me and told me to get out and come to them immediately. I did and her step dad slapped me. At that point my dad was heated and told him to never touch me again or he'd be sorry. The whole time they were still yelling at me telling me how bad of a kid I was and stuff. My step mom finally came in and took me aside and said don't listen to them, that she knew I didn't know what it meant. She explained to be what it was and that I should never call anyone that. I said I was sorry while balling my eyes while having a swollen cheek. She got me some ice and said she forgave me and then went swimming with me.

I just wanted to know if you were her or her family how would you have handled that situation?
