Should criminal trails be broadcasted?

I've noticed that broadcasting trails is a big thing in America. How do you feel about it? Have you ever watched one? What effect do you think it has on public confidence in the legal system? Do you think that it undermines/supports the rule of law?
Do you think it's a good thing? Why/why not.

All the trials that are broadcast would be open to the public, so anyone would be allowed to watch anyhow. The jury is picked before the trial is broadcast and they're sequestered so they can't watch the commentary any way.

I definitely see this as a learning tool. As a grad student, I can imagine how law students can benefit from televised hearings with the option to record or go back to certain moments as an educational opportunity.
