when do they do the first ultra sound?

I'm due 2/14 and when I called my obgyn they said they wait until 10-12 weeks to have the first appointment. Is that pretty typical? it seems like so many ppl have already had ultra sounds/appointments??

Im going in at 6weeks but only so they can do their own pregnancy test

My dr is seeing me for the first time at 6 weeks and with my first they saw me pretty early on too if I remember right

My OBGYN does an 8 week with internal ultrasound as the first appointment.

I was thinking the same thing! My OB won't see me until 9-10 weeks. Even to do bloodwork. I'm not sure the woman understood what I was asking her on the phone. So I called a different OB and they got me in at 8 weeks but they wouldn't do blood work either. I had to get with my PCD.

8-12 is typical. Higher risk pregnancies have earlier ones for viability.
