induction advice?

Question

Not really sure if I'm looking for advice as much as like how does the induction work?

I'm scheduled for on at 5 am on Tuesday and FTM--- getting pretty nervous, but I think it's because I don't know what to expect. Any mamas been through it and give me kind of a play by play of how it went?

I am planning to get an epidural as well.

I'm getting induced Monday at 7:30! Super nervous and I've done it once before! My son was born back in 2013, but this is what I remember... I went in at 5:30am, they get you set up in a birthing room and get you naked and in a robe pretty quick. I was hooked up to an IV ( which was the worst part for me because the nurse I had couldn't get it and after the THIRD try got another nurse to do it, so that was crappy) I had to have antibiotics too for that strep B junk. It was pretty calm in the beginning and then they started the pitocin drip. I was induced one day before I was 40w and I think I was only dialated to a 1 before going in. The pitocin made the contractions start, and you just have to breath through them, my dr came in to see how I was dialating and then asked if I wanted an epidural, yes I did! The anistisiologist guy came in a little after the dr left and had me sit up and hold my husbands hands and curve my back over a bit to do it. Not gonna lie, it hurt, but I don't know if it hurt more than it would have hurt if I didn't get it haha. Then from there things sped up and it seemed like contractions were coming on faster. Dr came in, checked me, and broke my water. Then it gets kind of blurry, but the next time my dr came in which was maybe an hour or so later, three nurses came in with her, she checked me, the nurses did some stuff on the bed like a transformer so fast to make it ready for go time. And then it was just that, go time. Push push and baby!
