natural birth?

Has anyone here had a natural birth? Like no medications to help your labor along as no pain medications? I want to do this but I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into honestly! Would love tips, advice or your personal stories! Thank you in advance!

I was able to have an unmedicated birth. What I did and what worked for me and husband: Read together The Birth Partner. It's a long book but totally worth it. It explains a lot that classes don't. (Recommended to me by a doula friend.) Practice now if you haven't already breathing techniques. My husband and I did counts of 4 in and out. (I wish we had extended it to 5.) I also practiced meditation with YouTube for prelabor, which was super helpful for the first couple of hours. Watched YouTube. Watched Ina May Gaskin and other mothers' birth videos. And I kept realistic expectations.

What I wish I had done differently: Attended a birthing class! An in depth one more than the one at the hospital. Hired a doula or midwife.

I had my son in the hospital but completely natural. No drugs; not even pain killers. Labor and delivery is difficult and painful no matter what you do, but for me, the decision to bring my son into the world without any drugs was the best thing I could do for him. It is true what they say, after the birth of your child, you do forget about the 9 months of aches and pains and all-day sickness. Although the healing process down below takes a bit of time. However, after all is said and done, You just experienced LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, and it's THE most incredible feeling you will ever have!

Now my second time around, I've decided on a water birth at a birthing center. I'm completely excited and can't wait for this experience.

I had one. My advice is to go in with a written plan. Stick with it. Also, mama natural blog is a great help.

I've had 4 kids. First one I had only gas. The other 3 I had nothing.
Just keep an open mind. I consider myself to have a pretty high pain threshold and my hospital doesn't provide epidural, so that helped.

I had a natural birth. I was planning a unmedicated birth with the option of epidural if it got bad. The contractions did not take my breath away until 30 minutes before active labor. Up until then, the contractions were uncomfortable but manageable. During active labor, all I felt was a burning sensation.

I have a high pain tolerance, and my son was only 5lbs. Every pregnancy is different but that was smy experience. Then again, even before I gave birth the big epidural needle scared me a lot more than the idea of pushing a big baby out today my lady parts.

Had a 7 hour unmediated vaginal delivery... had back labour the whole time and used arnica water and homeopathic remedies for back labour. I chalk up an amazing natural birth to a few things... 1. I read tons and watched a lot of natural birth videos (I recommend Ina mays guide to childbirth) 2. I took a hypnobirthing class and regularly did the meditations 3. I had an amazing support team of my partner, a doula and a midwife. 4. I was able to labour and push in whatever position I wanted to and kept moving throughout the whole process... I also used lots of affirmations like "I trust my body and my baby", etc. It was an amazing experience!!! Oh lastly I had a very specific birth plan that really allowed me to relax as I did not have to tell anyone what I needed, it was just done for me. I also made it through a 30 min transfer from birth centre to hospital and although it was hard I stayed calm. Wishing you an amazing birth!

I did. I went in with the mindset that I wasn't getting anything.  If you go in and plan to just see  how it goes you will probably get it cuz those contractions suck towards the end

Look at videos on youtube. Thats what i do... Im 29w on tuesday and still deciding what i want to do.
