friends with Ex?

Question

Can one be friends again with an Ex that they still are in love with ? 
My ex is basically tourching me by saying we need to be friends again to astablish trust and regain our relationship which makes no real sense to me at all and seems as if it's in Human to do agree ?  
My life's been crashing since he's been gone and now I have an the option to keep him in it but this shall be hard for me any advice.  ???

I tried being friends with my boyfriend when we broke up a while back- it was awful. We fought like crazy when we'd never fought before. I couldn't let him go and try moving on- I was just devasted and every bit of communication with him just made it worse. We ended up not speaking at all after a really horrible fight with lots of tears, screaming and some pretty awful things were said as well (things that were hard to get past when we got back together actually).

Don't be friends with an ex when there are still feelings. That doesn't work it at all. Take a break from each other to work through your feelings and if you want to be friends later on then try again. I didn't want to lose my boyfriend from my life which is why we both tried to stay friends but it was too hard. But it does work in many cases- my boyfriend is still friends with his ex (they were together 2yrs and lived together- somehow they made the friends thing work).

I think it's a bad idea! I tried it with my ex and in the end I had to block him and leave the whole things behind.
