breastfeeding troubles?

Anyone else still struggling? My baby eats well, but my nipples are cracked and have not been healing easily! Now pumping some feeds and also using a nipple sheild some feeds. She's such a champ. She'll take anything and is keeping a good latch.

Anyone else still struggling through? How do you maintain your determination?

Yes I'm with you. I'm at week 8 and still taking it one day at a time. My son had a tongue tie corrected at week 3 so I've seen slow improvements but nothing major. Still painful at every latch but something in me makes me keep going, even through two cases of thrush! I haven't gotten the hang of the nipple shields. Never thought it would be anything but easy and natural wow was I wrong!!

My LO is 8 weeks today. Early on I had a lot of nipple discomfort. I found that when I could go braless for a while to air out helped. My flow is super fast so even nipple shields don't help. My saving grace was getting a pump. I'm lucky and my little has never had nipple confusion. I still get days where I get sore so I drain my boobs and air them out! Also used lanolin early on, bought a big tube and have hardly used any since about 3 w pp. Good luck!

Hang in there! My favorite cream is the medela nipple cream, works great and soft and ok for baby. I've used a nipple shield since birth, baby is good with it cause i have flat nipples as long as baby is eating u will be fine. Hang in there!
