Baby teeth???

Has anyone's kid gotten an infection because one of their teeth wasnt able to break through? What did you do, wait it out or take LO to the dentist? My daughter doesnt act like it hurts and she is eating and drinking fine but it looks infected and im on the fence whether this needs to be seen right away by a dentist or not? She has her 15 month checkup on the 20th, should i just wait and mention it to her pediatrician?
