for those that have co slept sent their kids were infant, is it a hard transition from your bed to the crib?

I have co-slept with my son since he was born. He is now four months old. I am not ready to make the transition yet but I am curious as to how hard it is to transition him to his crib whenever I feel comfortable.

I have a very unconventional approach to co-sleeping so probably not the best to answering. My first was with us til she was nearly 2...and then her bed stayed in our room til she was about 3. I found it easier to explain to her that she was now a big girl and so she could start sleeping in her big girls bed. I have never stopped her from coming for cuddles but now at 4 she hardly ever comes anymore:).

I would help your LO fall asleep and then place them in their crib. I don't know how often your LO wakes up but you can keep helping to fall asleep and move them back. At first maybe you can do the first half of the night like that and then co-sleep afterwards, just so they gradually get used to it.

We just started transitioning for the first part of the night she's 6 months old... took two months for her not to freak out in her crib... it still takes about 3 tries of putting her down and she wakes up every 1-2 hours in her crib but I don't mind cuz I'm just spending time with my partner then I bring her to bed when I go to bed

All of my 3 kids were different. 1st slept with me until 13 moths then we did family bed side by side on the floor. By 18 months put him in his big boy bed in his room but he crept in every night until he was 5. He was easy to sleep next to so I didn't mind.

My last two girls sleep better in their own rooms. I tried to cosleep with both cuz I like it in the first months. After 5 months they wiggles so much next to me that we put in the crib.

I always started my son out in his crib and would end up back in bed with me. I enjoyed the snuggles and we both slept better. Has no issue when it came time for him sleeping through the night in his crib. He's 1.5 years old now and won't sleep any where but a darkened room with a sound machine. Now I miss his snuggles but that's ok

Coslept/bedshared with my first until she was 2.5. She hated the crib and wanted only to be with me. I allowed it because it was just me and her. She easily transitioned to her big girl bed in her own room with no issue. Now, with my second she coslept/bedshared with me and my husband since the day she was born. Didn't feel like fighting to get her in her crib and we felt more comfortable when she was with us. A month or so before her first birthday she started to sleep in her crib with no problem. She sleeps through the night with no issue. I don't have to fight her or anything to stay in her crib. If we have a third child we will cosleep/bedshare and ease them into their crib like with our second before they turn 1yo.

I started the transition around 6 months. I did it gradually with having her learn to sleep by herself at naptimes for a few weeks before going to the night time transition. It helped so much! She's almost a year old now and only sleeps with us when she's sick and I need to keep an eye on her during the night.

We haven't started the transition yet, but I was told start by letting them play in their bed, then try for naps, and eventually transition to bed time. It slowly gets them used to the bed.

I transitioned my daughter from her Rock n Play that was next to our bed to her crib when she was 7 weeks old. I thought the earlier the better. She's 10 weeks old now and we've had no problems. I put her down for the night and she will usually sleep for a 6-7 hour stretch. At night I swaddle her tightly, have white noise playing and keep her room totally dark. 
My partner and I agreed when I was pregnant that we wouldn't co sleep at all with her. Just a personal preference. I'm going to stick to that as she gets older too.
