Mirena: yay or nay?

Question

So I had my postpartum appointment today. I decided on Mirena for birth control because the mini pill just scares me in terms of effectiveness. But now I'm a little worried about the complications, especially the ones that could cause me to have infertility problems when I want more children. Anyone have Mirena and have no issues getting pregnant? Anyone have problems? I would love to hear any and all stories (good and bad). (Btw I already got it placed today)

I had mirena for 9 months and actually got pregnant with it in. I know it doesn't happen a lot but it was a scary situation. The iud was in the right place still when they removed it but it caused me to miscarry. Up until I got pregnant I really liked it though, had no problems with it. Prob won't ever get an iud again after all that though

I had mirena inserted in December. In April I had a lot of bleeding. Called my drs office numerous times over it. They finally saw me just yesterday. Turns out the actual piece moved out of place and wasn't even doing its job. Dr said it rarely happens. I was so frustrated with all of this but decided to give it another try. She took the old one out and immediately inserted a new one. I'm hoping do better results! I have heard very good things about them, though.

I had it in for 6 months from 6 weeks pp and I never felt like myself. I wasn't sad or happy, I almost felt like I was a zombie. I had no desire to do anything (especially sex) and I couldn't figure out why. I got it removed and I've felt a lot better. But, I've had this same feeling with other types of birth control that other people haven't had problems with.

I kind of have a similar question. I have my pp check up next week and I am debating between getting the mirena and just going on the pill again. I feel (especially with having a little one now) that the mirena will be so much easier but with the pill I like that i can skip my period for instance if I'm going away on vacation or something and would rather not be bother by AF during that time.

I had no issues getting pregnant. I had it removed, had one cycle and conceived.

I had the Mirena for 3 years. In may my husband and I decided we wanted to try for baby number two, but weren't going to start until July after we took our family vacation and my body got back into the swing of things (had no period the entire time.) well we had unprotected sex the day before removing it and apparently that did it for me. 23 days later I was back in the office with a positive pregnancy test. Unfortunately I miscarried that pregnancy, but after a d&c June I fell pregnant again my next cycle and now have my second little joy who is 2 months old. I would recomend it to anyone!

I had mirena for 3 years and got pregnant the month after I had it removed lol. I also didn't have my period the whole time I had mirena in so I was a little worried that it would take a while for my body to adjust after removing it. But as I said, i got pregnant immediately lol. I loved it and had absolutely no side effects.

I've only had it 6 months so far, but I love it. My periods are light and painless.

I had mirena for 4 years and got pregnant after removal in 4 months. Mind you I was in depo for 9 years prior to the mirena
