Start counting from the first day you bleed on your period. If on average you bleed again 28 days later, then you ovulate around 14 days after your period starts. If you check your cervical mucus every day, recording color, viscosity and amount that will give you some big clues as to when you ovulate. (Eggwhite to watery consistently and a large volume signal ovulation)
