parents permission

Did your parents or your SO's parents disagree with y'all being together? Did they try to keep y'all seperated, etc? My boyfriends father doesn't like us together for reasons of the past(I forgave my boyfriend) no one cheated, but things took a turn down the devils lane. Anyway, parents "approval" is a big deal to the both of us, but we also know we want to marry each other as well. We haven't talked in days because his dad had kept his phone from him and such.. it's a hard thing to be going through, so i need advice, opinions, etc.
