copper IUD

Hey ladies, yesterday I had my 6 week post partum appointment and after conversing with my Dr about different methods of birth control I chose the IUD copper for 10 years. I'll get it inserted next week. Any advise on pain expectation, period, sex, effectiveness??

Do you guys think it was a good choice? I hate hormones because I used the shot for a long time before and got every single side effect possible.
