Pregnancy testing advice NEEDED!

I don't understand the "6 days before your missed period" and it's 6 days before my missed period.... I get bfn. Has anyone gotten negatives and then ending up testing positive later on? Like the day AF is due or possibly weeks after? Trying not to lose hope 💖
