is your baby sleeping on its tummy?

Question

My 4 month old can flip from back to belly and seems to love flipping to his belly when it's time to go to sleep. I try to flip him on his back but eventually he goes back to belly and I don't want to wake him up. Is it ok for him to be sleeping on his belly at this  point? They say back is best all the time so I'm not sure what to do.

As long as you're always starting them on their back, don't have anything in the bed that they can get over their face and they are able to lift their head up, then it's ok. If they're flipping to their tummy, that's more comfortable for them and that's how they prefer to sleep. Sadly, there's just no way to avoid it. As soon as my little guy learned how to roll to his tummy, he became a tummy sleeper and he sleeps deeper and better this way.

Mine has been sleeping on his belly since 2 months. It was too much of a hassle forcing him to sleep on his back. He hated it. Once I saw him sleep so well on his stomach (thanks to inlaws) I gave in. Just make sure to keeep an eye on him every few hours and remove all objects from the crib.
