cradle cap?

My daughter is 3.5 months and today I notice these huge yellow flakes on her scalp 😓. She has some smaller ones in other areas but they seem to be concentrated here. I tried using a fine toothed brush but she has a ton of hair and it seemed to spread it everywhere 😖 she didn't get it as a newborn so I don't know what to do. Help!

My twins had it bad! I used a kinda soft tooth brush with baby oil on it and gently brushed it through their head and it came out easily

Do not use head and shoulders. There are much gentler options out there to get rid of this. Give organic coconut oil a try. Massage it onto your child's scalp for a couple minutes then let it sit for half an hour before washing out. It should do the trick and be completely gone after a few tries. If not, consult with your doctor about anything you can use that is safe for babies sensitive scalps

I was my sons scalp with the soft baby brush and softly scrub the shampoo into it. When it dries i use the baby brush to remove the flakes. It is yeast and if you don't remove it then it will spread

Along with what everyone else said, make sure that when you bathe her you're getting all of the soap out of her hair, rinse it very thoroughly. Give it a few weeks but if it doesn't clear and you're still concerned always ask your pediatrician 😊

My 5 month old son has it and my brother just finished his Peds residency. He said they were taught to advise a diluted Head and Shoulders to wash hair with. Leave on 10-15 minutes then rinse well and gently brush flakes off. It takes a few rounds but takes the layer of cradle cap of gently without leaving too much fresh skin exposed afterwards. I'm on round 2 and the difference is amazing!

My lo has a good amount of hair for her age, not as much as yours, but I use honest company baby conditioner on her and it clears it up. Just make sure to rinse well.

It's cradle cap it's normal. Seeing as she has alot of hair it's going to be hard to get it off yourself so best to just leave it until it goes away on its own. My sons nearly bald so I have gotten some of his off using baby oil and his comb. Whatever u do Don't pick at it because it can get infected. Babies don't get cradle cap when they are first born, it's usually when they are 2months+ and all babies get it

It's cradle cap.. nothing you really can do especially since the baby has so much hair! It'll go away eventually.
