Advice
My doctor had me supplement with 1 ounce of formula at each nursing session since my son had jaundice and wasn't losing but didn't gain weight in his first week of life. Now she said he gained 6 ounces and I can just supplement with pumped breast milk and then eventually exclusively breastfeed.
The problem is he is so cranky now, he hardly sleeps more than 1 hour stretch in the night. Before he could sleep 2-2.5 and then I would wake him or he would wake me to eat. When I pump after he eats I only get a few drops equal to half an ounce so I'm not able to even supplement him with 1 ounce each nursing session.
What should I do? Also, how often should I be pumping if I'm at home with him 24/7 for maternity leave?
