can you block private number from contacting you?

I have an iPhone. Is there any way of doing this or do I have to contact my phone provider?

I've been getting regular calls from a private number. They ring me multiple times during the day, at random hours, when I answer, no one says anything, I can't even hear breathing, it's just silence as if they have mute on, I say hello then they hang up in exactly 10 seconds. It's getting annoying and I have no idea who it is.

I downloaded Mr. Number, an app, on my phone because I had the same thing happening. They were calling me up 14x a day. They have stopped calling me since I downloaded it. It still rings once though, before the app picks it up and stops it.

If you can't block it, answer it and blow a whistle into the phone. Maybe they'll quit calling! 😂

I have an iPhone as well and if you go into your messages if it was a text and find the number you want to block click on the info button in the top right corner than the arrow next to the call button and there should be a button that says "Block this caller". Hope this helps!

I had something like this happen but it said restricted.. Verizon told me there is nothing I or they could do without a number...
