My boyfriend came on my belly button ring and I got it in april. It hurts to move the ring but I'm cleaning it right now. Does anyone know what will happen, and has it happened to anyone? Sorry for the circle it's from when I was cleaning it, but the super dark purple spot is the shadow of the ball.

If you got the piercing in April it's safe to take out of your belly. Take the piercing out and then clean the actual jewelry and the hole. Top and bottom, then put the jewelry back in. Mine got like that too, it's a part of healing. It looks like the beginning stage of infection but not really full blown. DONT clean with peroxide. It kills the good bacteria too. Good luck (: I would go back to cleaning it 3 times a day just like when you first pierced it

Mine got red like that once when I first got it. I did the cup over the belly button like that with warm water and a vinegar.. like half water and half vinegar. After I let that soak, I soaked it again with regular water! Did that a every night for a little while then slowly went back to the salt water mix.
