Is the IUD effective and safe?

I Have so many questions about it. Is it effective, will you gain weight, and can your partner feel it??

It is 99.8% effective, and you can get both hormonal and non-hormonal versions, and with the hormonal one there is a chance of gaining weight. Non-hormonal doubt it!

For the first few months you probably will get heavier periods potentially for longer, but your partner shouldn't be able to feel it!

There are two strings at the base of the iud like tampon strings, that stick out from your cervix rather than your vaginal opening, the nurses and doctors will teach you how to feel for it, and there's potential for your partner to feel the strings during sex but your doctor can trim the strings down. The iud itself is inside your uterus and impossible to feel during sex, no matter how well-endowed the guy is!

I had two, I loved them so much. Set it and basically forget it for 5 years! My uterus is tilted so I could never feel the strings; neither could my partner. I highly recommend IUDs!

Effective yes but safe? Depends on what you're willing to risk. It wasn't worth it for me.
