Problem Stomach and Metformin

Tay • Mommy of one with two on the way 💙💙💙
Hi everyone! I am hoping for some advice from long time Metformin users, or people who have been on it for a while and have some tips they can share.
A little back story to my question: I have a VERY sensitive stomach (always have) I feel nauseous very easily and certain foods will instantly make me feel sick and take me out to the point of feeling like I have the flu until they are out of my system ( I.e. Spicy foods, very sugary foods, recently garlic bothers me). Usually as long as I eat "clean" foods I am okay nothing processed or too heavy, mostly fruits and veggies.
Now moving to my current dilemma as of the past month and a half.. maybe a bit more I started Metformin which has made it worse. I take Metformin 3 times a day and try to space them out from each other as much as I can. My problem is that I feel very nauseous even before I eat... I feel like I can't eat the things I normally eat which in turn leads me to eating heavier items such as toast or crackers which in turn makes my stomach hurt. I feel like it is a never ending cycle. The Metformin has REALLY helped me start to lose some extra weight I have been carrying so I don't want to lower my dose but I haaaaate the chronic stomach issues! Please if anyone has any advice on how they deal with this please share!
