formula feeding every two hours?

My baby is three weeks old and was weighed a week ago at 9lb 8. He's taking 4-5oz of formula every 2-3 hours. I've given up without breast  feeding as I couldn't fill him! He's having between 28 and 34oz each day. Is this too much? It says only to be giving him 25oz max on his milk so I'm worried he's having too much.

I think that's just an average they go by. My first ate so much it was crazy, he was 9lbs at birth and ate 2oz in the hospital, and was at 4oz by the time he was a month old. My second was 8lbs at birth, is 7weeks old and is still only at 3oz every 3 hours. Both are healthy!

My baby is almost 4 weeks and is eating anywhere from 2-4ozs every 2-3hrs. Sometimes she can down the 4ozs no problem, other times I struggle to get 2oza in her. I think if the baby is not gaining too quickly, and appears happy and comfortable, you are doing a great job.

My girl is 8wk old and having roughly 950ml per 24hr.  I think thats about 32 oz, it doesn't sound like your feeding your baby too much. The amount on the tin is just a guide as some babies have more or less then recommended☺
