Sex with someone new?

My boyfriend of three years recently broke up with me. We've broken up before and have gotten back together and I have a feeling that we will get back together again but I'm unsure if I should try having sex with other men now that I'm single, as my now ex-boyfriend is the only man I've ever been intimate with. I've always wondered what it would be like to sleep with someone else and now I have a chance but I'm worried it would affect the chances of us getting back together which I very much want to after a while. Should I just go ahead and sleep with someone else or wait to get back together with my ex eventually if possible?

If you want to have sex with someone, do it. Don't stop yourself from doing something that you want to do, because there's a slight possibility that you might get back together (which isn't for sure, and who knows you might met someone else better than your ex along the way). Don't put your life on hold for one person.  Who you may or may not have a future with. That's just my opinion, but you have to do whatever you think is right for you, not what everyone else thinks.

I agree with Kelsey, if he wanted you to stay exclusive he shouldn't have dumped you. If that's what stops you from getting back together, he's controlling or possibly mysogynist so why would you want him back anyways? Live your life girl!

Why get back to together with someone who broke up with you more then once before? You should try and meet other people since you're only familiar with one other person.

I was in a very similar situation too! My partner, who I lost my virginity to, and I literally had the 'maybe we should just be friends' talk ON Valentine's Day.

Later that night this really cute guy that I know started texting me. We went out on a couple dates and I had a lot of really good sex with that guy.

That sort of lead to another talk between my partner and I and we've been together and committed ever since, but the point is that both my partner AND I are glad that I have a bit more experience with someone else.

Regardless of if you get back together or not, go get you some girl

I honestly believe everyone should sleep at least with one other person in their life. At LEAST 2 people. I was with only one person like you for years and I always had that curiosity. Get it out of your system before marriage because you will regret it later IF YOU HAVE THESE FEELINGS. I married the man I lost my virginity to, but we saw other people in our breaking point and it brought us back together. Just made us realize what we really wanted if that makes sense?
