Cramps in the middle of cycles?! Ovulation?

I had cramping for 3 days and last night innercorse was pretty painful I thought for sure I was ovulating or at least getting ready to. When I woke up this morning the cramping had stopped. It wasn't one sided though. But for the life of me I can't get a positive opk the line gets dark just not dark enough.
