Our dog bit my husband on the face.

My husband had this dog for a couple of years before we met. The dog is 10 years old now and has always been trained (until he started acting up a foci ole of years ago before we had our son so we took him to a trainer). We take him for walks 4 times a day and he plays outside all the time. We have two small kids under two. The last month or so every single time he comes into the house he pees in the living room or the hall. He knows he shouldn't but he's started lifting his leg on the furniture and peeing and all over the carpet. Even directly after we walk him. We had to buy a carpet steam cleaner and have had the living room carpet professionally cleaned 3 times in the last two months on top of that because he's doing it daily now. He has been house broken since he was a puppy then this. This morning my husband walked him as usual and when he came inside he ran inside and peed on the tv stand and new rug. My husband yelled at him and was in the process of him putting him in the backyard when the dog bit him really hard on the nose and now my husband has a huge gash. He was bleeding everywhere and had to go to the doctors office instead of going into work. Now I'm terrified since we have two small kids. He's started growling at them when they walk by and he has bitten my almost two year old on the hand once, unprovoked, but it didn't break the skin. We brought him to a trainer a couple of years ago and he did well for a couple of months but then he was back to the same grumpy dog. We're skeptical about doing it again because it cost an arm and a leg before and we didn't see lasting results. Idk what to do. My husband wants to find him a new home and I might agree but I think it will be so hard since he's been a part of the family so long. Wwyd?
EDIT** I should have mentioned that we did take him to the vet a couple of weeks ago and he checked out fine. He's an American Eskimo
