Period Swimming??

Question

My family is going on a cruise to some place tropical for summer vacation and of course it is planned for the week I get my next period!! I've only had my period since December, so I've never been swimming or anything with it! Any advice on how to keep cool and how much to pack for a whole week?? HELP PLEASE!!

Well if you can wear a Diva Cup or tampon, you can go swim.  If not, I've never swam without anything.  And if you use pads, they will turn into beads all over you that you have to get off immediately.  So I don't swim on mine.  Pack a lot of what you use, and extra panties.

You can totally swim with a tampon or menstrual cup! I've gone in hot tubs with nothing, but that was only when I was at home in my own hottub so I probably wouldn't do it somewhere public. I find being in the water lightens my flow a lot anyways and the water was always nice for cramps and back pain. Pack lots of tampons if that's what you're using, extra panties just in case. Bring a few extra bathing suits if you have them in case you notice leaking when you get out of the pool.  I always changed my tampons as soon as I was done swimming, but I think that's personal preference?
