Picking Godparents?

How did you guys pick Godparents?

I personally don't like picking siblings cause I think they already have the privilege of being an aunt/uncle.

We each picked a very good friend of ours. Her godmother will be my best friend since 3rd grade who is also going to be my MOH. 
Godfather will be a good friend of my husbands (since high school) who also works in a daycare so he's great with kids.

Best friend since I was five will be the godmother and our very good friend for the past ten years will be the godfather. We have too many siblings to pick from and honestly I don't agree with most of their core values plus they don't all live close. Just easier and makes more sense to choose close friends.

I picked people who are very involved in our and baby's life I don't think you should pick someone you rarely see but that's my opinion so maybe a brother or sister or cousin it very good long time friends is what I went with

A god parent can be anyone you want, but someone you would trust being in your child's life as a sort of third parent, like basically a mentor for them, and caring for your kid if anything ever happened to you and your husband/bf, I personally chose my cousin because she's close to me and someone I would want close to my child, and the most successful person in my family and would be able to surely take care of my child if anything happened to me.

My brother and sister were baptismal sponsors (Lutheran) for my oldest two so we used them for our son and my husband picked his best friend and his wife.
