I remember my sister spit in my moms face and she got popped in the mouth 🤷‍♀️ I think it was well deserved. Never did it again and she is the most respectful 8 YO now. I'm pro discipline though (more for spankings not popping in face though)

There's nothing wrong with spankings. There's a difference between spanking and abuse. Kids are smart enough to know why they're getting spammed and you're supposed to tell them why you're doing it to teach them.

Why is everyone spanking their kids? Copra punishment teaches kids that hitting people is ok and that's one reason why abuse rates are so high. Parents tell kids "hey that's not ok so I'm going to hit you know" instead of "hey what you did isn't okand we are going to talk about this". Why not teach them how to communicate instead of hitting them?

My step daughter started doing this around 4-5 years old my MIL would slap( like a spank) her hand and teller no she can't do that. My SO threatened spanking her but always did time outs or made her do some sort of chore to make up for it and say sorry. She stopped doing it with us as she listens to my SO but continued for about a year at her moms.

What other people need to realize is every kid is different and some are more defiant than others. It doesn't mean they're a bad kid. Because they're all different, they all respond differently to a variety of deciplinary action. Time out works for some kids while other kids are more effectively disciplined with a spanking. You really have to know your child and find out what works with them. I'm pro spanking but it will not be the first and/or only form of discipline for me. It's a last resort if I've already exhausted every other form of discipline and my kids just not getting it.
