When did you need to start wearing maternity clothing?

First time moms, when was it necessary for you to switch into maternity clothing?  I'm 9 weeks now and by the end of summer I will be  18 weeks. I'm just wondering if I need to grab a pair of maternity shorts before they switch seasons 🤔. (I live in PA and I'm anticipating a warm September).  Thanks in advance!

I'm 32 weeks and still getting by with my pre pregnancy clothes. I work from home so I don't have to worry about wearing work stuff. But I bought belly bands to wear my pants still (which work great). And I wear my old dresses. I haven't needed to buy new bras either.

I had a bad bloat in the beginning so I started wearing maternity pants early but shirts and dresses still fit me pretty well. I think either getting an elastic band like everyone else said would work or maybe just like one pair of shorts should be ok

I was actually gifted a belly band, so I will just make good use of that! I think I will just concentrate on buying a few staple pieces for the fall/winter months.  Pinterest has a bunch of pins for building a maternity wardrobe with just 15+ pieces 😊. I too would rather spend the extra money on the baby. Plus, who knows, maybe it will push me to get back into my regular clothing after the baby if I don't have a ton of comfy maternity clothes?? Wishful thinking, haha

I'm almost 21 weeks and all my pre pregnancy pants still fit some are even still loose

It depends on the person. It's best to just play it by ear, honestly. I think I started wearing maternity clothes around 16 weeks. Buttons on pants became unbearable, and maternity clothes made me look pregnant instead of just fat. But, I'm 27 weeks and still wear some pre pregnancy shirts and pajamas. I haven't needed new bras, but I had some bigger ones already from when I was heavier.

Just shop sales. I got maternity shorts at target for like $15. Even if I only wear them once that's fine with me. It's never too soon to be comfortable in my opinion!

I'm a ftm and I'm still wearing my regular clothes at 20 weeks. I just use a hair tie on my buttons.

Around 15/16 weeks I bought materinity pants for work because I was starting to show(and I'm a petite girl) so the pants fit my legs, but not so much my waist. But I also ended up getting a belly band so I've been fine up until theses last few weeks I finally can't really fit into anything of mine. And I'm 37 weeks.

I was all about elastic banded skirts and leggings. I can wear them again pp. I had one pair of maternity shorts I wore about twice.
